LITTLE HUSKIES STEPPIN' UP!

The LHWC is a wrestling organization consisting of children through the 8th grade.  Many of the Little Huskies join the Oak Park & River Forest High School wrestling program when they become freshmen at OPRF. This year (2011-2012) the LHWC put 18 guys(!) onto the OPRF freshman team. They are already off to a terrific start - the freshman team even won a 9-team sophomore tournament recently. We are very proud of them, as we are of ALL of our former Little Huskies!

FOR LITTLE HUSKIE FAMILES
If you're looking for wrestling gear, while you can get some things at local sporting goods stores like Sports Authority, a great local source is www.wrestlinggear.com which is in Elmhurst. They have some limited store hours but great service and delivery from their website.

BREAKING NEWS: ELLIS WINS!

We had 10 Little Huskies Novice and Senior wrestlers make it through Sectionals to qualify for the State Championship Tournament - AND SEVEN LITTLE HUSKIES MEDALLED AT STATE!

GO TO THE PHOTO GALLERY PAGE TO SEE PHOTOS OF OUR LITTLE HUSKIES AT THE STATE FINALS IN ROCKFORD!

This was an outstanding year for our program. Special thanks to Doc for helping our club take the Little Huskies program to the next level.

NOW...it continues.

If you are interested in continuing your growth as a wrestler, older Little Huskies are allowed to participate in the "off season" Greco and Freestyle practices, held every Tuesday and Thursday in the room from 6:00 - 8:30 PM. See Coach Matt McDermott or Coach Mike Powell to see if it is appropriate for you and how to sign up. If you wrestled in the state tournament (regionals/sectionals/finals), we already have your USAW wrestling card so you just need to let us know.

If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail us at Littlehuskieswrestling@yahoo.com or call Matt at 847-917-8286. On weekdays, please call only between 5 and 9 pm.
